The screw trough, the screw shaft and, if necessary, the screw blades are cooled with water. This is both to cool the material to be transported and to protect the machine itself from the high temperatures. It is applied, for example, for the cooling of ash in cement plants or for the dry discharge of ash in waste incineration plants.
